Road of Recovery

While on the Road of Recovery, you will move through 3 phases of care and healing.

Phase One Palliative/Pain-Relief Care
Relieve the patient’s symptoms by providing therapeutic procedures to help maximize the healing process. After the patent’s level of severity (“feeling better”), they will be transitioned to Corrective/Strengthen Care to help strengthen the supportive structures. During this phase, we are relying on the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
Phase Two Corrective/Strengthen Care
Once the patient’s level of severity has decreased, they will be placed on a rehabilitative exercise program to help strengthen the supporting structures (e.g. muscles, bones and joints). The exercises and stretches target specific muscle groups to help promote joint stabilization and increase joint flexibility to help reduce the chance of re-injury, minimize exacerbation and/or flare-ups. This is active treatment, meaning, the patient is taking action in their recovery to better health.
Phase Three Maintenance/Wellness Care
During this phase of care, the patient’s symptoms are gone or reduced to a manageable level. The patient has been educated on how to manage their symptoms, if they should return. The goal is to help the patient maintain good spinal and joint health throughout their lifetime.
