Now, that I have your attention, this message is for you. Please, please take care of yourselves. Your mind. Your body. Your spirit. You are important. You are significant. You are needed.

We Need Men Around

Men are essential to the world. Just think about… what kind of world would we have if men did not exist? You don’t have to answer that question now, just chew on it for a bit.

You Have Choices. Don’t Suffer in Silence

According to research, men are more likely to be undiagnosed and untreated for mental health issues such as anxiety and depression1. In addition, men are less likely to seek medical attention, and often delay getting medical services, even when they are in pain. While society has taught men to be tough and to fix things on their own, the reality is…superman does not exist. Sometimes you just need to ask for help.

It’s Okay to Ask for Help… It Really Is.

Realistically, no one is expecting you to know everything. No one knows everything about everything, it’s simply impossible. Tough guys get injuries, broken, and experience trauma, all of this is part of the human experience. When you need help, it’s okay to ask for help. Go to someone that you trust and have a positive relationship with. This could be your partners, spouse, sibling, parent, close friend, or coworker.

If Your Way Isn’t Working… Get Help From Health Experts

You may also find solutions by reading books on a topic of interest, joining a support group, or seeking the help of a licensed healthcare professional. Depending on the health situation you are experiencing, it may be useful to talk with an expert. For general health advice, make an appointment with your primary medical physician, your PCP will guide you and make recommendations that will best fit your situation. For mental and emotional help, contact a mental health therapist.
