Release Pain to Receive Healing Now

Releasing is just as wonderful as receiving. Releasing is a willingness to let go of something – an idea, a thought, a situation, a person, a job, etc. – with the awareness and acceptance that by doing so, the act of releasing is for your own good. Releasing allows you to make room for something else. Let go of the unnecessary things and make room to receive something new that will enhance your life experience.

Autumn represents a time of letting go. The trees willingly release their leaves so that they can make room for the newness that comes during the spring season. Spring represents new beginnings. Therefore, to create a newness in our lives, we must be willing to release that which is hindering our progress.

Pain is a major hindrance to progress. Holding onto pain will not only slow you down, but it can also prevent you from living a more fulfilling life. Pain is necessary; however, the longer it stays around, the pain can become destructive – mentally and physically. Therefore, the release of pain is necessary for us to heal. Release pain to receive healing.

HERE ARE 3 WAYS YOU CAN RELEASE PAIN:

#1: Get to the Root Cause of Your Pain.

At times the pain can be present for so long that we do not remember how it started in the first place. This is especially true if you have been dealing with the cycles of chronic pain for years. Pain is usually a result of an injury. The injury can be physical, mental, and/or emotional. If you can remember when you first experienced the injury and what you were doing at the time of the injury, this may be helpful in realizing the root cause of your pain. Discovering the root cause of your pain will result in determining what type of care, services, and/or products will be most appropriate for alleviating your pain.

#2: Get Help from the Right People

Depending on what is causing your pain, you may need the assistance of one or more professionals. Seeking the help of those who are qualified in a particular area, releases you from the burden of having to do everything yourself. The burden of pain becomes a shared responsibility with you and your healthcare team. As a result, you get support and guidance in your healing journey, which often leads to better outcomes and long-lasting results. For example, chronic back pain can be co-managed with chiropractic care, massage therapy, exercise, stretching, and well as with conventional medical care. Every person is unique and different, you may need a team of healthcare providers and professionals who understand that they are not the end-all solution for everyone’s problem and who enjoy collaboration to create better patient experience and healthcare. Those who experience chronic pain are more likely to suffer from mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and/or substance abuse, therefore, having a mental therapist can be essential in helping to manage the negative impacts pain has on mental health.

#3: Forgive Yourself

If you believe you are the cause of your pain, do yourself a favor and forgive yourself. It sounds simple. I know. However, by releasing yourself from your past behaviors and past thoughts that may or may not have contributed to your pain, you liberate yourself. Forgive yourself for not seeking care sooner. Forgive yourself for not doing what you know you should have done or could have done. Forgive yourself for making appointments and not keeping them. Just forgive yourself. Acknowledge the situation that caused the pain. Think of all the things you learned from that incident. Be thankful that you lived through the situation. Give yourself permission to forgive yourself. Release the negative emotions associated with the past, and accept that you are a different person today. Take a deep breath.
